This is an exciting opportunity to work with innovative technologies (including chromatography instrumentation from manufacturers such as Agilent, Gerstel, SYFT Technologies and LECO), build relationships with key decision makers and have a direct impact on our business. The sales manager is responsible for driving growth by managing the full sales life cycle. Responsibilities Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement a sales plan to achieve or exceed sales targets Manage Sales Team: lead, motivate and unite team members around a common sales strategy, organise and coordinate commercial activities, evaluate employee's performance and support their development whilst driving high performance Lead Generation & pipeline Management: Identify potential clients, generate leads and manage the sales pipeline to ensure consistent growth in market share Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders Product Expertise: Provide in-depth knowledge of the company's product portfolio and how the equipment can meet customer needs, supporting technical demonstrations and consultations where necessary Negotiation & Closing: lead sales negotiations, prepare proposals and close deals, ensuring customer satisfaction and long term partnerships Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends, customer needs and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and expansion Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the applications laboratory, servicing team and marketing to ensure seamless customer service and feedback loops Skills / Qualifications Proven Sales Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in B2B sales, preferably within the analytical chemistry or capital equipment industry Technical Knowledge / Educational Background: Bachelors degree in Chemistry (or related field) with a strong understanding of analytical instruments specifically GC-MS Track Record of Success: Demonstrable success in meeting and exceeding sales targets and growing market share Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences Self-motivation & initiative: A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team Travel: Willingness to travel within Europe, primarily in the UK and Ireland (up to 50% of time) to meet clients, attend industry events and be actively involved in the leadership team onsite #LI-JD2 Company Overview Element is one of the fastest growing testing, inspection and certification businesses in the world.
