We are currently seeking an experienced Service Technician for our Ophthalmic Instrument Division located in St. Paul MN. This is an excellent opportunity to join our team…We are a multi-line distributor of the finest ophthalmic instrumentation in the industry!

Job Summary

With minimum supervision, this position works from schematics and check lists to perform advanced technology service and repair work in service department and provide trouble shooting support to customer and coworkers via telephone and e-mail.

Duties:

• Utilize specialized electronic testing equipment to perform advanced technology service & repair work.

• Perform diagnostics trouble shooting support via phone and email.

• Read & interpret electrical schematics, analyzes digital and analogue waveforms, and perform component-level circuit board repairs.

• Complete service reports and maintain accurate time log data sheets.

• Prepare service estimates for parts, labor and shipping and obtain customer authorization for service work based on estimated costs.

• Achieve and maintain proper work standards to stated specifications.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience/Qualifications

• Two (2) year Associates Degree in Computer/Electronic Technology or Biomedical Technology or work experience commensurate with position requirements.

• Demonstrated mechanical/electrical aptitude.

• Understanding of mechanical/electrical schematics/drawings.

• Good interpersonal skills and strong communication skills.

• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.

• Position may require periodic travel for product-specific training.
