Summary of position:

The Desk Side Support Technician will be responsible for providing technical support to end-users for a client of TEKsystems as well as those remotely based across North America. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware and software issues for employees in a timely and efficient manner. The role requires a efficient level of technical proficiency and excellent communication skills, as the Desk Side Support Technician will interact with users at all levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide on-site technical support for end-users.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.

• Resolve technical problems in a timely and efficient manner to minimize downtime.

• Install, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop hardware and software, including operating systems, applications, and peripheral devices.

• Communicate technical information to end-users in a clear and concise manner.

• Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve complex technical issues.

• Document all technical support activities in the ticketing system.

• Contribute to the development of knowledge articles and other support documentation.

• Participate in the testing and deployment of new hardware and software.

• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification preferred.

• 1+ years of experience in desktop support, including experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office applications, and desktop hardware.

• Knowledge of networking and telecommunications technologies.

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Ability to lift and move computer equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
