Title: Director, National Recognition Program Operations Division: BigFuture Location: Remote Type: Full Time Travel: 1-2 days bi-monthly About the Team BigFuture is a free online guide to help all students take the right first step after high school. The BigFuture Student Engagement team works on a national scale to connect students and caring adults with BigFuture. The team runs live virtual events including Real Talk, which reached 100,000 Black students and families in 2022, and BigFuture Live, which has connected 100,000 students and families with college and career students in the last year. Beyond live events, the team's efforts also include the following: BigFuture Scholarships which have rewarded students with over $19 million since 2019, National Recognition Programs which recognized over 70,000 high-achieving Black, Indigenous, Latino and rural students this year, and BigFuture Ambassadors, which has engaged over 10,000 student leaders across the country in the last two years. The team is continually in touch with students, counselors, teachers and parents to understand their changing needs and how BigFuture can help them explore careers, plan for college and pay for college. About the Opportunity College Board National Recognition Programs recognize the outstanding academic achievements of Black, Latino, Native, rural and small-town, and first-generation students who take PSAT and AP assessments. As Director of National Recognition Programs, you will manage smooth day-to-day implementation of these programs. You will be responsible for managing program operations and ensuring clean delivery of the programs. You will facilitate clear communication, systems and handoffs across a cross-functional team that implements the annual award cycle. In partnership with the team, you will ensure the program meets ambitious goals to increase application volume. Working with internal partners, you will test strategies at a national scale to increase awareness among students, K-12 and higher ed institutions. Cross-Functional Coordination (40%) * Identify dependencies and develop, communicate and maintain a visible project plan to manage execution of the annual awarding cycle * Closely manage dependencies, communication and handoffs across the cross-functional team to ensure accuracy, clarity of next steps, requirements and needs * In partnership with Student Product and Tech, capture and communicate requirements for the application on BigFuture, monitor data on product engagement and regularly identify opportunities for refinement * In partnership with internal data analysts, develop and refine nuanced business rules that fully capture program needs and closely review analysis for accuracy and thoroughness to ensure clean delivery * In partnership with Growth Marketing, develop, monitor and continually refine a marketing plan that tests messaging and targets students, parents and educators to reach goals for application volume and award certificate downloads * In partnership with Learning and Assessment, examine the measurable impact of National Recognition Programs on postsecondary outcomes and student perceptions Program Data and Operations (40%) * Regularly track and report data on application volume and awards by program, monitor data quality and respond to internal data requests * In partnership with the Customer Service team's managers, develop and use systems to respond to escalations, monitor customer service data, spot trends, and recommend interventions to increase clarity, reduce escalations and ensure a smooth customer experience * Develop and refine FAQ's and other job aides to equip the customer service team to provide efficient, clear support for applicants, awardees, their parents and educators Awareness Building and Growth (20%) * In partnership with the State and District Partnerships and Growth Marketing teams, develop materials and outreach strategies to help K-12 educators increase awareness in their schools In partnership with higher education teams, develop materials and strategies to increase higher ed awareness of ways to recruit awardees through Student Search Service About You You have: * High attention to detail and analytic orientation to ensure consistency and accuracy * Experience coordinating complex, detailed cross-functional projects * Experience working with marketing, product, tech and/or customer service teams * Superb organizational systems and use of project plans to plan and communicate status * Ability to communicate nuance accurately and clearly in written verbal communication * Demonstrated commitment to increasing opportunities for underrepresented students * Experience working with large data sets * Ability to use Microsoft Excel to track, analyze and synthesize data * Curiosity and eagerness to learn constantly and implement feedback * Willingness to pivot and innovate regularly, based on user data and feedback * Comfort with ambiguity * Availability to travel for one to two days every other month * You are eligible to work in the United States of America About Our Benefits and Compensation College Board offers a competitive benefits and compensation program that attracts top talent looking to make a difference in education. The hiring range for a new employee in this position is $80,000 to $130,000.College Board differentiates salaries by location so where you live will narrow the portion of this range in which you can expect a salary.
