Regions Hospital Clinical Documentation Specialist (RN) in Saint Paul, Minnesota

Regions Hospital has an opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Clinical Documentation Specialist! In this role, you will facilitate improvement in the overall quality, completeness and accuracy of medical record documentation for inpatient charts by utilizing clinical documentation program guidelines and technology platform. The Clinical Documentation Specialist obtains and promotes appropriate clinical documentation through extensive interaction with physicians, nursing and other patient care staff and facility coding staff to ensure that the clinical documentation reflects the level of service rendered to patients is complete and accurate. This position educates all members of the patient care team on documentation guidelines on an on-going basis and maintains a positive and open communication with physicians, interdisciplinary care team members and coding staff. The Clinical Documentation Specialist meets and/or exceeds productivity and quality expectations including but not limited to number of average daily reviews, query rate, missed query opportunities, clinician response rate and clinician agree rate.
