Job Summary:

Supports the configuration, installation and maintenance of network switches routers as well as the analysis and resolution of issues pertaining to network equipment and circuits in wide area and local area networks. Assists other Network operations staff and system support personnel with problems related to connectivity.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides technical leadership to Associate Network engineers as the subject matter expert of Layer 1 and 2 network and secondary support of layer 3 network. Supports problem resolution and planned changes/upgrades to the environment, to include application of engineering patches and new releases

  • Provides meaningful input in to planning, testing, engineering and designing for the integration of network infrastructure with other technology, such as web conferencing and other technical productivity tool sets.

  • Perform detailed technical evaluations of new Network technology and provide technical recommendations to management for the integration and deployment of new technology with other IT systems and applications.

  • Effective network design review and engineering in and across all regions that is responsive, technically competent, and achieves a standards based and reliable service environment that meets business strategies and initiatives.

  • Support of advanced networking and security technologies such as Checkpoint, Bluecoat, F5, CA, Cisco, Microsoft and other vendor as required.

  • Configures, installs and maintains hospital, clinic data center network devices. Perform capacity planning and life cycle analysis.

  • Provide escalated technical support interfacing with various communication service providers such as Charter Communication, ATT, Centurylink, and others as required.

  • Provide 24X7 supports for issues with a high degree of complexity and be part of the on-call rotation for network services team.

  • Perform and comply with established change management process.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent years of experience and education

  • Three years' experience
