Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Employees will work in a union facility on the 3rd shift. Shift times are Monday-Friday 11:00pm-7:00am, or Sunday-Thursday 11:00pm-7:00am. Must have at least 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance. This role does not require experience with processing equipment, pipe fitting, welding, fabrication, carpentry, repairing electrical or mechanical equipment, or installation of equipment.

Responsibilities

• Adjust or repair packaging equipment.

• Repair or replace defective equipment and parts using hand and power tools.

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on all equipment.

• Inspect drives, motors, and belts; check fluid levels; replace filters; and perform other maintenance tasks while keeping all activities documented.

• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair/owner manuals, engineering specifications, and parts catalogs as necessary.

• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.

• Work with outside contractors and plant operations to ensure all maintenance is completed in a safe and efficient manner.

• Perform PMs, troubleshooting and repair, as well as some project work.

Essential Skills

• Troubleshooting

• Electrical knowledge and ability to test R&R 110-480v electric motors, circuits, and switches

• Preventive maintenance

• Knowledge of LOTO (Lock out Tag out) and Emergency Response Procedures

• Good interpersonal skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• General understanding of electrical systems and controls is a plus

• Will receive a higher pay rate if able to provide proof of certain certifications and licenses
