Clinical Laboratory Client Specialist

Salary/Pay Rate/Compensation:

$30 - 35/hr + and based on experience

Overview

This client is a growing biotech company that specializes in neurodegenerative diagnostic testing for patients, such as those with Alzheimer’s disease. The Client Specialist will be part of our growing team and will effectively address and respond to customer inquiries and requests. The Client Specialist will also be responsible for the registration of clients in C2N's laboratory information system (LIS) and handle the receipt, processing and distribution of specimens, and the communication of test results to clients.

Schedule:

Hours: Mon - Fri, 8AM – 5PM CST - hours may vary and this role is fully remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively and accurately managing client registration, test ordering, and cancellation in support of laboratory services

  • Promptly handling clients' telephone inquiries and maintaining a consistently professional and pleasant telephone demeanor when responding to client calls and questions

  • Working with clients to explain the purpose of testing, testing requirements, and turnaround times

  • Ensuring the prompt resolution of any product or service issues for clients

  • Documenting call histories in clients' files and maintaining appropriate records

  • Entering specimen data into the LIS and checking against the requisition for accuracy

  • Ensuring that the labels on the specimens coincide with the information provided on the requisition

  • Promptly reporting laboratory results to clients using established protocols

  • Actively participating in process improvement through C2N IT system integrations and proactive team interactions

  • Complying with OSHA, state, and federal regulatory sources/standards

  • Participating in quality improvement activities to ensure appropriate outcomes

  • Identifying workflow inefficiencies and working in partnership with laboratory team and management to improve operations

  • Assisting with training and orientation of new employees in the customer service team

  • Building and maintaining productive working relationships with team members and clients

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree required. Bachelor’s degree and higher preferred

  • At least three years of customer service experience in a medical or clinical laboratory setting

  • Proficiency with various MS Office computer applications

  • Ability to multitask with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to provide frontline support for clients/customers in an empathetic manner

  • Excellent telephone etiquette with pleasant manner and a service-oriented attitude

  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Strong work ethic

  • Self-motivated
