Akima Certified Energy Manager in Saint Louis, Missouri
The Certified Energy Manager is required to be a certified LEED Green Associate or LEED AP (O&M) with a minimum of 5 years’ experience. A successful candidate will be able to interface with the building management system to support building energy use collection, trending, system programming, and other troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
The CEM will be expected to perform planning activities to develop and maintain a strategic energy management plan.
Develop an energy use breakdown by major systems, conduct trend analysis to identify issues, ensure peak performance, and monitor energy consumption; provide an annual energy conservation report that includes energy conservation recommendation and associated cost savings to the government
Coordinate and manage the completion of the annual Greenhouse Gases (GHG) Sustainability Data Report; and manage the N2W energy management program IAW all applicable local, state, and federal regulations and standards, including, but not limited to: NGA, DoD, and ODNI, etc.
Monitor various energy measurement systems. Identify any inefficiency issues with a variety of electrical and mechanical equipment including, chillers, air handlers, air distribution devices, cooling tower, etc.
Work in conjunction with various crafts such as HVAC mechanics, electronics technicians and electricians to correct problems and maintain reliable energy measurement equipment for the site.
Work with energy management and building management and other building information and control systems.
Daily, weekly, and monthly review of trending data to analyze system performance.
Capable of recommending changes and implementing new system functionality as needed to improve efficiency.
Capable of recommending tuning control changes, making set point changes, making alarm point changes, initiating trends, and reviewing control history to make intelligent decisions on energy and water use.
Have a working knowledge of and implement the environmental, safety, and occupational health requirements applicable to these job duties.
Energy and resource management audits and filing periodic reporting.
Perform all other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
Must be a US Citizen.
Must have completed technical training or an associate’s degree in a technical / engineering-related discipline
Minimum of 5 years’ building automation service experience. Niagra system training a plus.
Experience with 500K sq ft or greater facilities.
Must be able to be on call to respond to issues
Possess a valid state driver’s license and a good driving record
High school graduate or equivalent.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
Ability to understand and have working knowledge of hazardous, safety, and environmental warnings.
General knowledge of all maintenance and construction trades.
Possess or able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance with eligibility to access Sensitive Compartmented Information.
Desired Qualifications:
Possess a Top-Secret security clearance with eligibility to access Sensitive Compartmented Information.
Experience with a LEED Certified Building that meets current “High Performance” standards.
Experience with Tridium Niagara Building Automation Systems.
