Your Responsibilities

  • On-time provision of raw materials and supplies, purchased parts, tooling equipment and investment goods with regard to cost-effectiveness

  • Preparing market analyses including industry trends, cost drivers, global pricing, lead-times, technology and manufacturing capability of company suppliers etc.

  • Cost-saving and CIP-opportunities identification and implementation coordination across divisions (plants)

  • Negotiations the vendor contracts, ensuring the high-quality and reliability of suppliers and products

  • CAPEX evaluation and validation to operations leadership.

  • Identifies and realizes VA/VE opportunities in coordination with suppliers and divisions

  • eRFX key user for all e-procurement tools and implements them into Magna Cosma procurements processes.

About the Role

Cosma Casting specializes in High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) that designs and builds medium to large aluminium die-cast automotive components and operates in Germany, UK, Poland and US.

The Head of Purchasing (Casting Group) as Functional Lead of Casting divisionsis responsible for managing the strategic sourcing and the competitive bidding negotiation process, as well as ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures, across the Group.

The position holder strategically develops and implements commodity/supply chain strategies covering all commodities, services and supplier processes to deliver maximum value, leverage, and standardization for all divisions (plants), in accordance with the corporate policy and the overall objectives of the company. Creating, monitor and support the Supplier Risk Management within the Group. The person in the role reports to Senior Director of Operations Casting Europe.

Who we are looking for

  • Graduate degree in Business Administration, Economic Sciences, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Purchasing; or comparable education

  • Several years of experience in Purchasing & Sourcing with extensive experience in the manufacturing industry, preferably in the automotive sector (e.g. casting, pressing and molding tools, thermoforming tools, raw material acquisition on a large scale)

  • Business-network in the automotive sector is an asset (contacts with OEMs, TIERs etc.)

  • Experience with Capital equipment purchase

  • SAP user knowledge in purchasing and stock transactions

  • Project management experience

Your preferred qualifications

  • Good interpersonal skills with “hands on” problem solving expertise

  • Very good English and German skills

  • Analytical approach to seeking solutions

  • Work collaboratively to achieve project/company goals

  • Flexibility to travel overseas; eligibility to work globally

  • Self-driven.
