Saginaw ISD Finance Software Supervisor in Saginaw, Michigan

POSITION TITLE: Finance Software Supervisor CLASSIFICATION: Administration / Non-Bargaining DEPARTMENT: Finance and Business Operations

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Administrative/Non-Bargaining
  • One (1) Full-time position, 260-day position
  • Salary: $77,675 - $81,608 annually

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Under the supervision of the Director of Finance, this position is responsible for managing the functionality, accuracy, security, and accessibility of the ISD's and constituent district's general ledger software.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain user access, functionality, and proper maintenance of general ledger software.
  • Create new and maintain current user accessibility to the general ledger software.
  • Assist local school districts with issues related to the general ledger software.
  • Update and maintain the approval routing for purchase orders, check requests, expense reimbursements, budget transfers, credit card purchases, time-off requests, etc.
  • As necessary, contact general ledger software programmers with unresolved issues in search of a resolution.
  • Supervise the accounts payable staff, and ensure accurate and timely issuance of checks.
  • Assist the finance department with annual audit preparation, as needed.
  • Troubleshoot any issues within the general ledger software to ensure optimal performance and functionality.
  • Monitor program performance to detect errors, apply testing procedures/methodologies, and interpret data.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation of procedures and user-guides.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, computer science, or related field. Education in accounting or computer science and previous work experience related to the essential job functions will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments and perform tasks with limited supervision.
  • Knowledge and experience in financial auditing are preferred.
  • Previous knowledge of Skyward software is desired.
  • Ability to work independently, and in a team environment.
  • A high level of organizational skills is required.
  • A high level of decision-making abilities is required.
  • Ability to deal with constant and diverse changes in daily job responsibilities.
  • Ability to work with district timelines.
  • Willingness to receive additional training to improve job skills.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
