Summary: Set up and operate a wide range of grinding equipment. Grinding equipment and operations vary from simple to complex for the manufacture of ceramic and carbide cutting tips to precision tolerances. Duties & Responsibilities: Read and interpret router, blueprints, planning sheets, sketches and related technical data to determine requirements, fixture set-up procedures, control settings, and machining methods and sequences. Write programs and trouble shoot existing programs. Load control media in machine controller or enter commands to retrieve programmed instructions form the database. Calulate and set machine controls. Mount, align and secure tooling, attachments and work piece. Select and install grinding wheels. Dress wheel. Start up machine and monitor display. Verify dimensions of finished work piece. Work with and instruct other employees as required. Comply with all safety, quality, work rules and regulations. Other duties may be assigned.
