Centene Corporation VP, Medi-Cal Regional Lead in Sacramento, California

Position Location: Remote - Los Angeles CA

Position Purpose: The Vice President, Medi-Cal Regional Lead will be responsible for leading a geographic region or territory and integrating strategic planning and tactical execution across the Medi-Cal line of business in that region. This role will ensure the plan has an impactful presence in the counties and communities by collaborating with stakeholders to improve health and wellbeing, set strategy, and drive sustainable growth to increase market share. In addition, this role will establish relationships within the counties, health plans, and community based organizations and ensure that those relationships remain strong. This role will also work with multiple departments to inform healthcare delivery strategy and lead implementation of related initiatives in the local market.

  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen Plan relationships with contracted providers, county agencies, partner health plans, community based organizations and act as the primary liaison with key stakeholders in assigned service area(s).

  • Maintain integrity, stability, and overall profitability of the Medi-Cal program at the local level.

  • Set regional strategy to drive growth and capture market share. Partner with business line and other leaders to inform and support related initiatives and appropriately leverage multi-line opportunities.

  • Partner with medical affairs, network management, medical management, delegation oversight, enrollment and retention, and other teams to inform healthcare delivery strategy and lead implementation of related initiatives in the local market.

  • Collaborate with Government Relations, Marketing and Communications, and other internal and external parties to ensure the Plan establishes and maintains a strong local presence and effectively amplifies the value delivered in the communities served.

  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of DHCS requirements and program expectations to ensure the Plan delivers on expected outcomes.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred. 9+ years of experience in operations, management, and/or administration in the Healthcare industry and 3+ years of supervisory/management experience required. Prior experience in business development and/or Request for Proposal (RFP) preferred. Extensive knowledge of state legislative and regulatory processes preferred.

The ability to travel, including overnight, up to 40% of the time.

License/Certification:

N/A: Pay Range: $178,500.00 - $338,800.00 per year

Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
