Position Overview:

Responsible for medical affairs and providing administration (at hospital, regional and system level) and medical staff with knowledge, experience and leadership from a medical management perspective. Facilitates communication and understanding among the various clinical components of the delivery system, assuring the provision of high quality, efficient and safe care. Participates in system-sponsored initiatives, establishing goals and standards to support business initiatives and to ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service and achievement of common objectives. Develops and fosters a solid partnership with leaders and employees to facilitate and collaborate on initiatives, to resolve operational challenges and to improve processes. Establishes overall operating and capital budget with input from management team, ensuring financial targets are achieved and variances are addressed in a timely manner. Responsible for leading the strategic, clinical, and programmatic direction of the Same Day Care Service Line across Sutter Health. This role is crucial in enhancing patient care and access, developing distinctive programs, optimizing financial and operational performance, and driving a culture of innovation and continuous improvement across all levels of service delivery. Will dyad with the Same Day Care Service Line Executive and partner closely market-level leadership across Sutter Health ensuring excellence in clinical programming. Will serve as the clinical subject matter expert for the Same Day Care Service Line. Will lead and act in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Values of Sutter Health.

EDUCATION:

  • Medical Doctor

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

  • MD-Doctor of Medicine

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

  • 15 years of recent relevant experience.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Demonstrates management proficiency and knowledge to effectively plan and coordinate services consistent with applicable standards and regulations.

  • Understanding of general hospital operations and workflows, and how operational process/workflow impacts other department operations.

  • Demonstrates verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey concepts and communicate information or issues in a manner that is readily understood by management and employees.

  • Interpersonal and presentation skills to deliver presentations to a variety of audiences.

  • Collaboration skills to facilitate open sharing of information and cooperation with various stakeholders, and to build consensus.

  • Committed to providing exceptional customer service and responding to customer needs/requests in a prompt, courteous manner.

  • Credible leadership presence with the ability to respond to questions with logic, clarity, calmness and authority; and the ability to engage others.

  • Working knowledge and thorough understanding of applicable laws and regulations, licensing and accreditation requirements, and standards of practice with the ability to interpret and implement applicable requirements to ensure operational compliance.

Pay Range is $147.05 to $235.28 / hour. Bay Area Pay Range is $167.10 to $267.37 / hour.

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
