As the Senior Business Analyst , you will be responsible for investigating, understanding, describing, and documenting requirements. In addition, refine and clarify information needs, define information delivery methods, and determine analytic application functions. Responsibilities include the evaluation of system output, interpretation of policy and program needs, providing support and assistance to end users, identifying enhancements or improvements, providing impact analysis, and coordinating with other program specialist.

If you are located in California and have the ability to work 1 day onsite in office, you will have the flexibility to work remotely*, as well as work in the office as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, review, forecast and trend complex data

  • Present analysis and recommendations for operational and business review/planning

  • Support short- and long-term operational/strategic business activities through analysis

  • Develop, recommend and implement business solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree

  • 1+ years of experience in a data, analytics or related role within the healthcare industry

  • Experience with Medicaid, Social Security Administration (SSA), and other health data specific to state and federal policies and procedures

  • Working knowledge of relational databases, database structures

  • Intermediate level of experience with SQL with the ability to write your own complex queries

  • Basic knowledge with BI Tools (i.e. BusinessObjects, Tableau, Power BI, etc.)

  • Proven competency using Microsoft Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Proven ability to lead or develop presentations for stakeholders

  • Currently reside within a commutable distance of Sacramento, CA with the ability to work a hybrid schedule (1x/week in the office)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in a data, analytics or related role within the healthcare industry

  • Experience or knowledge with Medi-Cal

  • Intermediate level of experience with a BI Tool

  • Microsoft Access experience

California Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $70,200 to $137,800 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
