Built-in 1973 Dignity Health Methodist Hospital of Sacramento is committed to providing daily excellence in health care for residents of Sacramento’s southern suburbs including the Elk Grove Wilton and Galt communities. Methodist Hospital is home to a 158 acute-care bed facility with 1120 employees 283 medical staff and 29 Emergency Department beds. Methodist Hospital also owns and operates Bruceville Terrace – a 171-bed sub-acute skilled nursing long-term care facility adjacent to the hospital that provides care for the elderly as well as those requiring extended recoveries. Methodist Hospital is home to the Family Medicine Residency Program an accredited and nationally recognized program which provides resident physicians with specialty training in primary care family medicine. Together the hospital and residency program implemented a ground-breaking curriculum addressing the identification treatment and assistance of human trafficking victims and created a one-of-a-kind health clinic for victims the Human Trafficking Medical Home.

Responsibilities

As our Physical Therapist at Methodist, now part of CommonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health, you’ll help our patients rebuild or maintain their physical wellbeing following an illness, injury, or issues with aging. Using various treatments, you will help patients reduce pain, build strength and endurance, increase range of motion, or develop better balance to keep them functioning at their best level.

You’re always ready for the next task. Our physical therapists see between 6 to 8 patients daily for initial evaluations, re-evaluations, or treatments. Our therapists perform most treatments themselves. You’ll work with a variety of backgrounds - orthopedic injury or surgery recovery, traumatic brain injury, stroke, or conditions affecting balance, to name a few. This environment is busy and fast-paced but full of collaborative and supportive team members willing to offer help, advice, or mentoring at any time.

To thrive as a physical therapist, you must be a team player. You’ll constantly collaborate with other therapists, patients, and their families to seek the best possible treatment outcome. You should be personable, positive, and motivated to provide quality care to a wide variety of patients every day.

Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team of physicians and therapists to devise and implement personalized treatment plans for each patient.

  • Conduct comprehensive initial evaluations and periodic re-evaluations to assess patient progress and adjust treatment strategies accordingly.

  • Thoroughly document all treatments administered and promptly report any changes in patient status.

  • Customize therapy sessions to address the unique needs and conditions of individual patients, demonstrating creativity and flexibility in approach.

  • Pursue ongoing professional development opportunities and serve as a knowledgeable resource for colleagues seeking to expand their skills.

  • Deliver consistently high-quality care to all patients, prioritizing their well-being and rehabilitation goals.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Active California Physical Therapist License

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred:

  • Previous experience as a Physical Therapist.

Pay Range

$53.62 - $60.67 /hour
