LifeSTEPS is hiring a full-timeNorthern California Supportive Housing and Health Services Regional Directorfor theSacramento, CA area!Our Supportive Housing and Health Services Department consists of a team of passionate and dedicated professionals who specialize in providing high level support services to current and formerly homeless individuals, physically and/or mentally disabled individuals, vulnerable seniors and veterans. This is a full-time, exempt position and will report to the corporate office located in Sacramento, California. Travel accross Northern CA Region is required. Scope of coverage includes the following counties: Sacramento, San Joaquin, Alameda, Monterey and Sonoma counties.

About the Position

The Northern California Regional Director, Supportive Housing and Health Services (RDSHS) will provide regional administrative and supervisory support to the Director of Supportive Housing & Health Services (DSHS) and direct the Supportive Housing and Health Programs within the Northern California Region. The RDSHS is expected to customarily and regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment when implementing and coordinating tasks for the DSHS and must have the ability to handle shifting priorities and multiple projects independently.

Core Duties (but not limited to) RDSHS:

  • Ensure Intensive Case Management Services are developed and follow all procedures and policies.

  • Work closely with partners and other supportive service agencies, including case management and mental health providers, to ensure program clients’ needs are being met.

  • Evaluate crisis situations on an individual basis.

  • Develop and coordinate with community organizations, public agencies, and volunteers to ensure client access to needed resources, including donations.

  • Visit sites to observe effectiveness of intensive case management; provide feedback; complete quarterly compliance audits to ensure agency meets standards and procedures criteria.

  • Perform Intensive Case Manager duties as needed during any temporary staffing shortage or staffing transition.

  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, specified grant requirements, and specified contract/program requirements.

  • Provide training for Intensive Case Managers, including initial training and scheduled trainings provided by partners.

  • Oversee required staff trainings as determined by LifeSTEPS management, contracted partners, applicable laws, and contracts/program requirements.

  • Lead partner and team meetings and larger team case conference meetings.

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, forecasting and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluate performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.

  • Review content of database entries, monthly service reports, and any other required reports; ensure they are accurate and turned in by applicable due dates.

  • Review case records, time cards and expense reimbursement report.

  • Assist as needed in conducting annual needs assessments in order to gather information regarding the needs of both the resident community and the larger community surrounding the housing complex.

  • Implement site specific programs as detailed within contractual agreements.

  • Maintain contact with the property manager at least monthly; communicate information on property as appropriate; maintain monthly contact with the Regional Manager of each property.

  • Prepare, distribute, and maintain a variety of reports.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience and/or License Certification:

  • Bachelors degree in mental health field (Social Work, MFT, or Psychology). Master's degree preferred.

  • Three (3) years of experience in the field of homeless and/or special needs populations.

  • Provision of case management and/or mental health services in permanent supportive housing, including establishment of a crisis response system or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

  • Two (2) years of experience in a supervisory role.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the degree.
