Position Overview:

As the Group Lead for Coach-Final Assembly, your primary responsibility is to ensure the efficient and high-quality assembly of Coach vehicles in the final stages of production. This pivotal role involves overseeing a dedicated team, coordinating assembly processes, and maintaining quality standards. Your leadership is instrumental in achieving production targets, adhering to safety protocols, and encouraging a collaborative work environment.

What your day may look like:

  • Provides work assignments and work instructions to employees throughout each workday.

  • Assists and trains employees in new job assignments.

  • Coordinates work schedules with other Group Leaders and/or Supervisors and maintains work status. Performs quality checks on work being performed.

  • Monitors employees' safety, quality, methods, and output.

  • Keeps supervision informed of work plans, status, and employee performance.

  • Prepares and/or reviews employee time sheets and other labor input documents.

  • Assists the supervisor in conducting regular safety meetings.

  • Performs information inquiries and/or transactions using computer terminals to support other duties and responsibilities.

  • Works from detailed engineering drawings to fit-up piece parts in fixturing assembly components consisting of steel channels, brackets, angles, sheathing, assemblies, and subassemblies.

  • Meets production schedule with minimum supervision.

What will make you successful in this role:

  • High school education or equivalent.

  • Two years minimum experience in safely handling structural steel, utilizing cranes, forklifts, lifting fixtures and slings. Welding of carbon and / or stainless steel. A.W.S. D1.1 and D1.3 certification for welding of all positions on carbon steel required. A. S. M. E. Section 1X certification for tack welding all positions on stainless steel. MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding is our primary process being used.

  • Ability to fully understand of manufacturing drawings, able to verify dimensions. Must understand tolerances. Complete shop order documentation and time sheets.

  • Mathematical skills: Competence to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

  • Capable of reading and understanding simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Able to write clear, concise correspondence and present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings with colleagues.

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

  • Able to apply common sense to follow detailed, yet straightforward, written, or oral instructions.

The hourly rate range for this position is $22.29-$29.92 per hour plus 10% shift differential for 2nd shift. The role is eligible for overtime for certain work schedules. The salary may be higher or lower depending on your experience and skills.
