Sacramento Credit Union Loss Mitigation Manager in Sacramento, California

TITLE: LOSS MITIGATION MANAGER

STATUS: EXEMPT

DEPARTMENT:  LOSS MITIGATION

REPORTS TO: VP DIGITAL BANKING & CONTACT CENTER

PAY SCALE: $66,500 to $82,000

 

Sacramento Credit Union is seeking candidates with demonstrated loss mitigation department management experience for our Loss Mitigation Manager position.  The Loss Mitigation Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and reporting of all activities pertaining to the collections of the credit union’s loans and negative share draft accounts, including attorney actions, bankruptcy, vehicle repossession, sale of repossessed collateral and foreclosure process.  This position requires knowledge of credit union operations, regulations, credit and collection fundamentals, and the demonstrated ability to manage staff, provide executives with loan collection portfolio performance and process measurement reporting in an accurate and timely manner.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • *Oversees the day-to-day operations of the department. Monitors and reviews work completed by staff based on productivity standards, effectiveness, accuracy and appropriate handling of delinquent accounts. Evaluates employee performance; ensures staff is competent and motivated.

  • *Ensures loans and negative shares are collected in accordance with the credit union’s policy and procedures and is supportive of the credit union’s strategic plan and direction.

  • *Establish, maintain and update collection policies and procedures. Provide reports based on performance standards to adherence of procedures.

  • *Identifies developing trends and potential loss mitigation measures to minimize losses.

  • *Supports and develops credit union staff with education and direction regarding the collection of consumer debts.

  • *Works with IS department to ensure the collection system is maintained to meet the credit union’s strategic plan and direction.

  • *Assists the VP of Digital Banking & Contact Center with problem solving and workflow maintenance in order to preserve the quality, accuracy and effectiveness of the collection processing.

           

     * Essential Function

Necessary Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related work experience.

  • 1-3 years supervisory or collections management experience.

  • Working knowledge of consumer, real estate, foreclosure, repossession and bankruptcy laws. 

  • Working knowledge of managing/supervising the collection of consumer loans and credit cards.

  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise and develop assigned staff.

  • Demonstrated skills in conflict resolution and problem solving.

  • Demonstrated inter-personal communication skills.
