Sutter Health Business Intelligence Developer III in Sacramento, California

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for providing end-to-end reporting and analytical services to internal business partners and leadership. They will be expected to develop and lead integrated solutions and effectively apply both business knowledge and technical expertise to design, develop, and implement Business Intelligence (BI) solutions, databases, data warehouses, data marts, interfaces, custom programming, complex reporting, and analyses. They will provide technical expertise in the architecture and development of integrated data and business process improvement solutions for functional areas through the use of technology. This position will work to drive business innovation through data.

This position does require on site work multiple times a week in the Sacramento area.

Job Description :

EDUCATION:

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

  • Bachelor's: Applied Statistics, Computer Analytics, Computer or related field

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years recent relevant experience.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • In-depth experience in developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions (reports, metrics, dashboards, and scorecards) as typically acquired in 5+ years.

  • In-depth experience in architecting/solution design using technology experience in data management.

  • Solid understanding of Data Warehouse methodology, Dimensional modeling in data analysis, including preparing reports, and data presentation.

  • Advanced knowledge of BI tools such as Tableau and and PowerBI

  • Advanced knowledge of database programming

  • Proficient knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL)., SAS or VBA.

  • Experience working with a variety of information systems and data files, including large and complex files; analyzing file structure, using and creating file layouts, transforming raw data into finished products, e.g. trending and reports is required.

  • Ability to take a problem, requirement, or strategy; research solution and take from concept to implementation for desired outcomes with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to prioritize workload to complete assignments accurately and timely, and to meet strict timelines when receiving work from more than one person.

  • Experience in developing documentation at a technical and user level.

  • Strong strategic thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business strategies and initiatives.

  • Familiarity with various types of sources of health care information, including coding & billing, reimbursement and finance data files is a plus.

  • Ability to learn new applications/software systems effectively and efficiently.

  • Demonstrated interest in data science and Artificial Intelligence/Machine learning.

  • Understanding of the recent advances in the Data Science and AI field, especially around large language models and generative AI.

Pay Range is $47.28 to $70.92 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
