CB&S Bank Consumer Mortgage Associate in Russellville, Alabama

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Serves as liaison between clients, branch manager, and assigned Consumer Mortgage Lenders (CML) / Loan Originators (LO). Conducts meetings to coordinate any follow-up items. Coordinate and prepare documentation necessary for verifications and underwriting such as loan files, loan packages, credit reports, and additional mortgage application documents. Screen and make calls, book appointments and provide administrative support to assist Consumer Mortgage Lenders and the Consumer Mortgage Administrator (CMA).

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrates an aptitude for banking and exhibits proficiency in all areas of loan documentation. Has an inherent duty and responsibility to follow all policies and procedures regarding loan documentation.

``` - Assist customers with completing loan applications and documentation necessary to process customer requests. Resolve customers' questions or problems within the scope of his or her authority and perform administrative/clerical duties necessary for the efficient operation of the department. - Identify customer needs and cross sale as appropriate and make referrals to authorized personnel. - Actively refers outside lines of business including loans that fall outside the mortgage department scope, and other bank services to appropriate areas.

``` - Assist Consumer Mortgage Lenders in processing loans and correspondence. Must be proficient with loan platform system to input loan information for mortgages and other supporting documentation and correspondence for Consumer Mortgage Lenders/Loan Originators. - Assist Construction Specialist with obtaining approval for Construction Draws and funding Draws once approved. - Assist CML with preparing Notices of Action Taken. - Work with CML/LO to address past dues and loan maturities in a timely manner; contacts customers when appropriate. - Work together with Consumer Mortgage Lenders/Loan Originators to clear exceptions. - Monitors status of documentation and reports to appropriate Loan Officer (CML/LO). - Responsible for preparation of assigned real estate loan documentation for loan closings, and close such loan when necessary.

``` - Coordinate loan closings with loan officers, customers, loan processing, and attorneys when applicable. - Assist CML/LO with preparing documentation for denials and submitting to Compliance - Distribute funds accordingly after a loan closing when instructed. - Makes requests to appropriate department for mortgage releases as instructed.

``` - Requires the ability to interact effectively with all levels of bank personnel. - Obtain specific goals related to production and quality documentation as described by supervisor. - Assures delivery of quality customer service when interacting with customers over the phone; first impressions will greatly influence the direction of the call.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Close mortgage loans in the absence of the Loan Officer when applicable.
  • Knowledgeable of all bank products and services.
  • Ability to cross-sell to existing and prospective customers.
  • All other duties assigned by supervisor.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
    • One to two years of clerical and loan operations experience.
    • One to two years experience in commercial, consumer, and real estate lending; or equivalent experience.
    • Proven knowledge of loan policies and procedures.
    • Knowledge of Real Estate Settlement and Procedures Act, Truth-In-Lending, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, and TRID.
    • Excellent organizational skills and communication skills, both verbal and written. Demonstrated ability to interact with customers and employ es, and listen effectively, and communicates complex issues.
    • Ability to interact with customers and employees in a professional and friendly manner.
    • Demonstrated ability to adapt to and use other PC based software packages.
    • Works with CML/LO or CMA to analyze and summarize complex financial information, make presentations of that information, communicate its contents, and make recommendations of appropriate courses of action.
    • Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks.
    • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
    • Ability to transmit information in written form.
