Job Description

The Business Development Manager will develop the Marine Commercial (Offshore) & Defence (Navy) business; through implementing initiatives to increase sales that support the Company’s strategic market goals, within the One Marine Business,

Essential Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a strong relationship with the Marine Key Accounts and supporting the Sales team to build the associated market segments.

  • Manage opportunities and reports in the Marine Segment through Salesforce.com.

  • Initiating contacts, visits and developing the relationships at all relevant levels with Marine Ministries, Owners, Operators, Contractors, Channel Partners & Suppliers.

  • Develops and establishes the business marketing strategy as it relates to their allocated market, in conjunction with Regional Leaders, Marine Business Leader and Sales Leader.

  • Plans and organizes the sales approach to assure the most effective development of sales opportunities from the installed base to meet sales targets.

  • Helps plan strategy to position the Company and offerings to be included on the approved and preferred supplier list.

  • Manages and develops new inquiries from potential customers with an interest in the Company.

  • Develop and lead the bidding strategy, in conjunction with the Commercial Operations team.

  • Liaise with CMU/LTSA/Commercial Operations & Application Engineering Leaders in risk & commercial mitigation on T & C’s and contract conditions.

  • Maintains contact with trade associations to promote the Company’s products, systems, and services.

  • Other duties may be assigned by management to meet business needs.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Technology or related field.

  • Proven Marine experience primarily in the Offshore segment, however Naval experience would be beneficial as well.

  • Experience in influencing in a matrix organisation.

  • Knowledge of customer procurement processes.

  • Ability to obtain appropriate visa to work in EU.

  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, drives, and automation systems.

  • Proven experience at developing business and relationships at C- Suite level.

  • Ability to travel to overseas destinations at short notice and for short periods as the business requires.

  • Able to speak business English.

This role is based in Rugby however hybrid applications will be considered.
