Job Overview:

Join our team as a Wind Plant Maintenance Engineer in Rufus, OR, where you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our wind energy facilities. In this role, you’ll leverage your engineering expertise to solve complex operations and maintenance challenges, contributing to the sustainability of our renewable energy resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform engineering and technical tasks in support of wind generation plant operations, including maintaining plant SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and plant performance data with GADS (Generation Availability Data System.

  • Provides in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage and implement engineering activities related to plant safety, reliability, maintainability, and availability ensuring compliance to customer's needs, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies.

  • Accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work ensuring proper configuration management.

  • Provide technical expertise and consultation through direct involvement to identify and resolve equipment and system problems.

  • Provides initial or complete task management of engineering issues.

  • Recommends equipment, new concepts, and techniques to improve performance, simplify construction, reduce costs, correct design, or material flaws, or comply with changes in codes or regulations.

  • Supports plant design modifications, testing and problem solving.

  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with internal and external teams, sharing your professional insights and coordinating tasks to ensure successful project execution. You’ll support plant maintenance engineering needs and contribute to capital budgeting and job estimates.

  • Knowledge Sharing: Be a leader in the field by sharing your expertise in the latest technologies and processes. You’ll mentor junior engineers and support training initiatives, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in an applicable engineering discipline, preferably from an ABET-accredited program or an equivalent accreditation agency.

Experience: A minimum of two years of professional experience in engineering, preferably within the energy sector.

Certifications : Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam is strongly preferred; may be required depending on the role.

Key Competencies:

  • Engineering Expertise: Strong knowledge of engineering and economic principles, with the ability to apply this knowledge to solve complex plant maintenance challenges.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in plant mechanical, electrical, and control systems, as well as knowledge of construction feasibility, procurement, and contract administration.

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze technical information and develop innovative solutions to meet operational needs.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Physical and Cognitive Demands:

  • Ability to work in various environments, including elevated areas, confined spaces, and rough terrains.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a history of safe driving practices.

  • Occasional Travel to PGE’s headquarters in Portland, OR and other wind facilities in WA, and MT will be required.

  • Capacity to work long hours, variable schedules, and respond to on-call duties as needed.

Compensation Range:

$81,450.00 - $135,750.00

Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
