Labcorp ToxAssure Certifying Scientist - 2nd Shift in RTP, North Carolina

LabCorp is seeking a Certifying Scientist to join its team in Research Triangle Park (RTP), NC! This position will be working in the ToxAssure lab which performs urine medical drug monitoring testing. The Certifying Scientist will be responsible for reviewing and verifying all data to ensure its accuracy before the final results get reported. The ToxAssure report provides a visual summary of test result findings and is designed to assist physicians in monitoring drug test results relative to a patient's prescribed medications.

The schedule for this position will be : 2nd shift, Tuesday-Saturday, 4:00pm-12:30am.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform certification review of all initial and confirmation data including verification of all chain of custody documents, quality controls, and calibrations

  • Ensure the initial technical review is complete and accurate

  • Review of LC/MS-MS and immunoassay screening data to ensure clinical acceptability

  • Identify and resolve quality control issues

  • Accurately enter and report test results

Requirements:

  • Bachelors of Science in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology or similar Life Science is required

  • 1 yr of clinical lab testing with human specimens required

  • 2 yrs of experience working with LCMS Instrumentation or Analysis in a Clinical Diagnostics laboratory is required

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment

  • Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems are a plus

  • High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills

  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
