Cisco Networking Escalation Engineer in RTP, North Carolina

Priority will be given to candidates who reside within a commutable distance to our office and can participate in our Hybrid work model. Qualified remote candidates will also be considered, but with secondary preference.
Meet the Team
This is an excellent opportunity to bring your outstanding talents to the group that develop solutions in Cisco's routing and cloud technologies for the largest web scalers and service providers of the world. This dynamic team develops and supports communication networks, and actively engages with all teams across Cisco to leverage solutions.
You will work with vibrant technical community and interact with some of the most respected experts in networking as you provide expert engineering support for very large-scale customer deployments. As an engineer in this team, you will have the opportunity to not only to support some of the world's largest Web scaler and Service Provider networks, but also work with the Product management, Sales and Marketing teams on pro-active customer engagements covering current technologies. You will actively engage engineering architects and technical subject matter experts in product development contributing to product quality, debuggability and customer technical requirements.

Actively engage, take ownership and drive to resolution critical customer escalations in Cisco’s Routing portfolio
Provide expert support and be a critical point of contact for technical and operational issues that require engineering expertise to resolve
Apply analytical skills and expert technical knowledge to solve product and network problems of high complexity
Provide technical support to Cisco customer-facing teams and customers; provide status updates on the overall deployment projects.
Actively engage with Cisco’s customer facing teams and travel to customer sites if needed
Effectively utilize lab setups to recreate and solve complex problems in systems due to configuration, software or hardware defects
Uncover systematic problems and drive plans with respective teams for long term solutions providing better customer experience and product/solution stability
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors in STEM with 8 or more years’ experience working in network engineering
Demonstrated experience working with protocols (BGP/OSPF/ISIS; IPv4/IPv6; MPLS TE/FRR; L2/L3VPN; RSVP; Multicast (v4/v6)
Experienced with real-time operating systems commonly used in Networking systems like IOS-XR, IOS-XR, SONIC
Experience with Linux and open-source technologies
Experience with large scale routing and switching architectures
Demonstrated experience troubleshooting networking issues in live customer environments to effectively diagnose and resolve problems
Preferred Qualifications:
CCIE routing desired
Experience with SONiC NOS
Familiarity with internal Cisco organization and eco-system (BU, AS, TS, PLM, Operations)
Master’s Degree in STEM
Practical knowledge and experience with Artificial Intelligence concepts and applications
