This customer-facing role involves close collaboration with our field sellers, business units, and partners to translate customer requirements into effective solution demonstrations. You will play a crucial role in demonstrating the potential and practicality of our technologies in supporting LLM/GenAI workloads through the successful execution of POC projects.

We are seeking an innovative and skilled Machine Learning/LLM Engineer to join our team as a Proof of Concept engineer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing and testing open-source models on our compute products tailored to meet the unique needs of our customers. What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to understand customer requirements and challenges.

  • Design, develop, and demonstrate ML/LLM/Generative AI use cases that address specific customer needs for POC testing.

  • Prototype and test (train/finetune/inference) ML/LLM solutions in real-world scenarios to validate their effectiveness.

  • Prepare detailed POC documentation, including system design, testing protocols, and performance metrics.

  • Present POC results to customers and partners, highlighting the value and capabilities of the Cisco compute products.

  • Gather feedback from POC testing to iterate and improve the customer experience.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest AI research, tools, and standard methodologies to ensure innovative POC development.

  • Provide technical expertise and support throughout the sales process

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in a STEM field with 4+ years of experience or Master’s with 2+years of experience

  • 2+ years experience developing Machine Learning (ML), Large Language Models (LLM) and/or Gen AI solutions

  • Experience with Python and AI/ML related frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch or JAX

  • Experience working with software development standard processes such as SDLC, version control (e.g., Git), testing methodologies, and/or code optimization techniques.

  • Experience with Linux operating system and associated development tools/utilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience building and presenting Proof-of-Concept (POC) demos

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Demonstrated coding expertise through published GitHub repositories and code examples

  • Knowledge of data pre-processing, feature engineering, and model evaluation techniques.

  • Experience with NCCL (NVIDIA Collective Communication Library) for optimized distributed computing, HPC experience with MPI or Slurm.

  • Understanding of distributed training and inferencing techniques.

  • Basic understanding of networking concepts
