The Senior Director, Finance - Volume collaborates with Commercial and Field leaders, ensuring advancement in digital and sales initiatives that are the core foundation of US Foods’ long-range plan. The primary focus will include establishing accurate volume forecast, providing financial insights on core sales activities, leveraging analytics to drive market share growth, and designing annual operating plans for the business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Own commercial forecast and sales financial insights for the entire business, providing clarity to executive leadership on progress towards long range plan

  • Enhances analytical tools to drive precision on forecasting for total company volume, sales and digital initiatives

  • Designs analytics to understand key drivers of results leveraging internal and external data

  • Develops and maintains reporting for market share across all operator segments, offering valuable insights to Commercial and Field leaders that drive market share performance

  • Constructs key messaging for executive and senior leadership on weekly, monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages

Provides strategic and analytical support for the Transformation Office and broader finance teams

  • Finance lead and strategic partner for Sales and Digital transformation workstreams

  • Business owner of the Enterprise Dashboard, the “North Star” performance management tool that tracks the safety of our employees, the experience of our customers, and the profitability of our business against our annual operating plan

  • Supports critical business needs with advanced analytical support in areas of gross profit and supply chain

Drives development of financial plan and strategy for Local and National business as “go-to” partner for EVP of Field operation and EVP of National Sales/Transformation Office

  • Builds the Sales Annual Operating Plan with specific measurable goals and assumptions

  • Financial lead for strategic plans around the future of our sales force and supply chain network

  • Supports sales optimization efforts that enhance the profitability of our existing distribution network

  • Leads a team of 2 Manager II and 1 Sr Analyst

RELATIONSHIPS

  • Internal: CEO, CFO, EVP Strategy, Insights & Financial Planning, EVP National Sales and National Sales Leadership Team, Chief Commercial Officer, Finance Leadership Team (especially Investor Relations), VP Financial Insights and broader FP&A team, Field Leadership team (RPs, APs), SVP Transformation Office

  • External: None

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Hybrid : This role is partially remote, and the associate is expected to perform assigned responsibilities from a combined home-based and office-based environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess a minimum of 10 years of experience with a focus on financial planning, analytics and driving business results

  • Minimum 5 years leadership experience, including managing a team with complex analytical skills

  • Strategic Agility – must possess a clear understanding of complex business principles and concepts and the business environment and the various market forces that drive it. A strong commitment to understanding the company – its business, markets, structure, culture and people. Contributor to business strategy, assess the impact of executive decisions on the company’s reputation, market value, and overall business success.

  • Excellent communications, and process management with a focus on prioritization

  • Drives Results – strives to attain results by conveying a sense of urgency, sets high standards of performance, and pursues challenging goals and objectives.

  • Must have a high degree of integrity and the courage of his or her convictions. Lead change by evolving the organization and its financial planning practices, procedures, and disciplines.

  • Self-confidence, balanced with knowledge of one’s own strengths and limitations, will be crucial.

  • Deep understanding of business drivers, economics, and finance. Strong analytical and leadership capability. Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and senior stakeholders, including Field leadership. Comfort with ambiguity

  • Up to 10% of overnight travel

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree or MBA with financial focus preferred
