Become a Quality Assurance & Risk Senior Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this role, you are a control expert responsible for formulating and implementing compliance risk and control management methodologies. You will be educating and counseling compliance and Quality Assurance (QA) teams across the enterprise on control design, development and testing. You will remain informed of the dynamic changes that occur within the environment and adjust methodologies and strategies based on those changes. You will also develop QA management tools and procedures, conduct assessments, as well as lead major projects.

A day in the life-Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright

  • Develop compliance risk and control management methodologies based on industry best practices

  • Provide training and consultation to compliance and QA teams on control design, development and testing. Assist stakeholders with designing controls

  • Conduct assessments on quality, compliance, risk, and controls following established QA standards and procedures; identify and communicate key risks and compliance issues to management; and support the remediation of issues through the development of appropriate controls

  • Provide QA liaison advisory services to the OUs on risk ranking, control development, control testing, and compliance activities

  • Build a “Culture of Compliance” by educating stakeholders on the requirements and importance of the company being in compliance with regulations; and conduct training on Quality Assurance, compliance risk management, controls design, compliance assessments, and other governance-related topics

The Essentials

  • Ten or more years of combined experience in regulatory advocacy or compliance, risk management, control management, quality assurance, or auditing

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, Cybersecurity, or other relevant field

  • Experience in designing, developing and implementing controls

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills collaborating with teams consisting of members across a variety of departments and fields.

  • Ability to influence and negotiate

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze information, translate technical concepts, make strategic decisions and recommendations, and guide other’s decision making by identifying the anticipated benefits, consequences, and impacts of alternatives

  • Understanding of NERC, CPUC, and/or FERC regulations; experience in regulatory compliance or utility operations

  • Knowledge of industry best practices and standards in the field of control management, risk assessment, quality assurance, compliance, process improvement, and/or governance

  • Industry certifications including CMQ/OE, CISA, CQA, CISSP, CISM, CSQE, CGEIT, CRISC, CSSBB, PMP, PE

  • Experience with data analytics methodology and tools (e.g., Excel Pivot tables and formulas, Power BI)

You should know

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
