Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. Welder in Romulus, Michigan
Ferrous Processing and Trading, a business of Cleveland-Cliffs Steel, has an immediate opportunity for a Welder at our Romulus, MI, operation. The welder is responsible for repairs, fabricating, and assembling custom-designed equipment.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Welds metal parts together using both gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes
Read blueprints and drawings
Take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
Welds metal parts together using both gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes;
Handle all preventative maintenance on roll-off boxes;
Repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes;
Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding;
Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs
Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws
Proficiency with basic machine tools
Maintain equipment that does not compromise safety while fully complying with approved safety regulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED.
3-5 years of welding experience
Strong math skills and the ability to interpret mechanical drawings, pneumatic and electric engineering drawings are a plus
Must be able to pass a hands-on welding test
Ability to lift/move up to 50lbs
Pre-Employment background, physical, and hair drug screen required
