About the Job:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Director of Finance to join us at Jumeirah Capri Palace. The role will provide strategic financial leadership and guidance to Jumeirah, overseeing all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, reporting, and risk management, to optimize financial performance, support decision-making, and drive long-term growth and profitability.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate maintenance of financial records, compliance with accounting standards, and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements, including preparation and review of financial statements.

  • Establish robust cash management controls, prepare cash flow forecasts, and oversee reconciliations of balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.

  • Supervise the Finance and Accounting department, ensuring smooth operations and timely delivery of financial reports, while also providing training and development opportunities to enhance team skills.

  • Direct the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts, establish major financial objectives and policies, and conduct analysis to minimize variances and maximize return on investment.

  • Contribute financial insights and recommendations to strategic planning processes, establish functional objectives aligned with organizational goals, and prepare long-term capital and operational projections.

  • Maintain professional relationships with stakeholders such as owners, asset managers, and corporate teams, reporting on financial performance, acting as a business advisor, and addressing specific requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with company finance directives, local regulations, and internal controls, coordinate with internal and external audit teams, and mitigate risks related to financial operations and reporting.

  • Provide training to enhance financial skills of management teams, set individual development plans, and coach colleagues for future growth and development.

  • Coordinate with auditors, investigate findings and recommendations, review and certify financial reports before distribution, and monitor legal issues and tax compliance, ensuring timely resolution.

  • Implement best practices, share insights with Finance Leadership Committee, address ad hoc requests, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of financial processes and operations.

About you:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business, Accounting or Professional accreditation e.g. ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, CMA.

  • 10-15 years’ experience in a similar role in a 5-star luxury brands.

  • Software competencies – Microsoft Office programs (Advanced)

  • Problem solving and creativity

  • Leadership and team management skills

  • Detail oriented
