Ensure effective food safety compliance and work with plant management team to implement programs to mitigate risk. Manage and lead HACCP program and team at site level, ensuring that good manufacturing practices, preventive controls and prerequisite programs are in place and effective. Manage the plant Food Safety and Quality System to produce safe quality food, acting as SQF Practitioner or equivalent GFSI manager (BRC, FS22000). Develop and maintain food safety and quality systems including QC and QA. Develop, review and align procedures will corporate policies, through GQMS (Global Quality Management System) with a drive towards best practice. Internally audit practices and procedures for improvement to prevent nonconformances. Quality system shall include food safety, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Quality Control in LIMS, material control, sanitation, and HACCP, as required by GQMS. Enforce Kerry standards in the areas of ingredient and product standards, process specifications, formula compliance, sanitation/GMP/pest control, and regulatory compliance. Ensure that the products released are compliant and safe foods. Be the point person at the site for regulatory inspections (FDA/CFIA), identify preserved (i.e., organic, kosher) and customer audits. Track report and review agreed upon KPIs. Develop and lead the plant Quality Improvement Plan. Responsible for cross-functionally in quality and process improvement. Responsible for addressing customer complaints, communicating effectively on technical issues and leading the root cause department, through training, communication, and accountability. Involved in recruitment, organizational development, personnel assessment, training, direction and motivation. Manage the department within budget and utilize resources effectively to meet needs of the business on a timely basis. Continuously improve knowledge of products and technology to investigate variation and resolve technical problems with the team. Apply a scientific approach with statistical analysis to data and problem solving. Act as the primary technical liaison with customers, vendors and regulatory agencies. REQS: This position requires a Bachelors degree, or foreign equivalent, in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Animal science, or a related field plus five (5) years of experience as a Quality Assurance Manager or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Utilizing relevant GFSI standards such as SQF, BRC, IFS or FS 22000; (2) Applying Food Safety regulations, FSMA, and industry and market trends; (3) Building applications off of HACCP system in a plant environment; and (4) Employing quality management systems, GFSI audit standards, SSOPs, Environmental hygiene programs, and prerequisite programs.
