The Role

Security Operations Center (SOC) is a critical global service within Kyndryl, and the SOC Consult Leader role will report directly to the Security Consult Leader within the Kyndryl Security & Resiliency Practice.

SOC Consult Leader Role and Key Responsibilities:

Kyndryl SOCs manage customer Security Operations and protect their enterprise assets by identifying, detecting and responding to cyber security threats.

The position is for a seasoned cybersecurity consultant with demonstrated experience and proficiency in Security Operations and Response, capable of providing strategic guidance, leadership, and expertise to enhance the security posture of Kyndryl Customers.

The role requires extensive experience in cybersecurity risk management, along with a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior executives from customers of different locations and time zones.

The SOC Consult Leader is responsible for advising Customers and being the subject matter expert in Security Operations and Response, sharing knowledge and expertise, and building trusted relationships with Kyndryl Customers.

In addition, the SOC Consult Leader will:

  • Develop and execute the Security Operations Center Services, goals, and objectives in alignment with Customers’ business objectives.

  • Provide strategic direction to enhance customer security posture and threat detection capabilities, advising the customers on selecting the optimum target operating model aligning to business strategy and goals.

  • Assess the efficiency and effectiveness of the customer SOC operations, technologies and organization.

  • Advise customers on SOC design, plan, build, implementation and optimization. Work on building strategic roadmaps, considering customers’ businesses objectives and priorities.

  • Identify areas of improvement, optimization, and innovation to enhance incident response and threat detection capabilities.

  • Define and Implement incident response strategies and procedures for addressing security incidents and breaches. Ensure customer technologies and playbooks are effective at guiding response, minimizing the impact to brand.

  • Advise and oversee the integration of threat intelligence feeds and external data sources into customers SOC operations to enhance threat detection. Stay informed about emerging threats and trends to guide customers’ organization security strategy.

  • As a senior consultant, lead, mentor, and manage team of security consultants, security experts, and subject matter experts.

  • Foster collaborative and motivated work environment, encouraging professional growth and skill development.

  • Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and vulnerabilities, and apply the knowledge to enhance Kyndryl customers’ threat detection capabilities.

  • Advise customers on how to manage the budget of the SOC, including technology investments, training and personnel.

  • Evaluate and select security technologies and tools to enhance SOC’s capabilities.

  • Work closely with other business teams within Kyndryl to ensure a cohesive and holistic approach to Security & Resiliency.

  • Provide regular updates and executive reports on Global SOC consulting activities, and strategies to the Kyndryl Security & Resiliency executive leadership.

  • Ensure customers’ organizations security operations are aligned with industry regulations, compliance standards, and legal requirements across different regions.

  • Communicate technical security issues to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

  • Direct full project lifecycle management of large-scale projects.

  • Provide clear communication to internal and external stakeholders on project status.

  • Implement project standards across projects for consistent service delivery.

  • Create comprehensive deployment plans and document project lessons learned.

  • Establish SOC monitoring and manage transitions to steady-state operations.

  • Lead and provide guidance to Project Managers and Project Coordinators.

Who You Are

Required Technical and Professional Expertise:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security or related field, or at least 6 years of directly related industry experience.

  • +8 years with proven experience in cybersecurity, including experience in a leadership role in Cybersecurity.

  • +3 years of experience in SOC consulting activities, with minimum 2 years in SOC roles.

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, threat landscape, and attack vectors.

  • Familiarity with security monitoring tools, SIEM platforms, incident response processes, SOC Runbooks, Incident Response playbooks.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage high-performance consulting teams.

  • Understanding of network technologies, typical IT architectures and features of information systems functioning.

  • Experience in cloud security infrastructure and architectures.

  • English and Italian fluent

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience:

  • Knowledge of industry adopted frameworks and methodologies (MITRE ATTCK, CIS, NIST-CSF, etc.)

  • CISSP, CISM, GIAC, or equivalent certifications
