Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems Sector - located in Rolling Meadows, IL - has an immediate need for an International Trade Compliance Analyst -Exports.

What You Will Get to Do:

Roles and Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible to administer and implement end-to-end export operational processes to assure trade compliance through performance of in-depth pre-entry and entry gate-keeping reviews

  • Works with internal parties such as programs, contracts, buyers, packaging and international trade compliance and external logistics service providers to maintain and improve compliance, operational and process efficiencies, reducing potential for transportation delays.

  • Create Hardware Shipment Requests for international exports in Enterprise Export Management System (EEMS), including filing the Electronic Export Information (EEI filing) through ACE.

  • Prepares and maintains complete and accurate documentation in accordance with all internal requirements, terms & conditions, and government regulations governing trade compliance

  • Determines the best method of transportation globally, referring to documentation for destination, considering factors such as export/import authority, expense, delivery times, and user requirements. Contact carriers and interdepartmental personnel to discuss delivery issues, recommending rescheduling, alternate routines, alternate carriers and the like.

  • Create SAP deliveries for international export shipments. Complete all required export compliance training in a timely fashion.

  • Working familiarity with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), understanding of export authorizations, different license types, exemptions and exceptions.

  • Track license balances (DSP-5 & DSP-73) in the Enterprise Export Management System (EEMS).

  • Experience in handling Carnets and Hand Carry shipments.

  • Conducts reviews and pre-entry assessments (PO/Sales Order to Payment) as it relates to export activity, to ensure implementation and effectiveness of internal compliance controls. Interfaces with cross functional departments to manage requests for information missing at the time of import or export.

  • Monitor and track shipments, review and maintain data in systems, dashboards, generate performance metrics for all related activity and provide updates and documentation to stakeholders - Analyzes trends and develops corrective actions to improve compliance, operational speed and efficiency

  • Manage comprehensive internal export and import controls to ensure compliance with US and foreign regulations in the conduct of international marketing, sales, supply chain and other business activities.

  • Assist on trade compliance counsel assessments and prepare and/or review documentation as needed with management.

  • Establish and maintain relations with appropriate government regulatory agencies.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to multi-task several projects at once. This opening can be filled as an International Trade Compliance Analyst or a Principal International Trade Compliance Analyst and will work out of our Rolling Meadows, IL office.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications for International Trade Compliance Analyst:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 1+ years of relevant experience; Will consider 10+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree

  • Additional 4+ years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree

  • Experience in export operations, logistics or supply chain, trade compliance, import/export regulations, freight forwarding

  • Ability to obtain a clearance (this requires US citizenship)

Basic Qualifications for Principal International Trade Compliance Analyst:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 6+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience; Will consider 10+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree

  • Additional 4+ years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree

  • Experience in export operations, logistics or supply chain, trade compliance, import/export regulations, freight forwarding

  • Ability to obtain a clearance (this requires US citizenship)

Preferred Qualifications for both:

  • Experience in the Aerospace & Defense Industry, knowledge of US Customs Regulations and handling imports and/or exports in accordance with Government Regulations, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)

  • Air exports freight forwarding experience

  • 3+ years of experience in processing international transportation activities Ability to understand global impact of regulatory decisions (assertiveness and diplomacy to achieve results)

  • SAP S/4 & OCR experience

Salary Range: $68,800 - $103,200

Salary Range 2: $84,600 - $127,000

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
