Medicaid Eligibility Associate (Administrative Assistant)

$18.00 - $20.00 hourly pay depending on experience

As a Medicaid Eligibility Associate, you’ll contribute to our success in the following ways:

  • Assures timely and accurate verification of insurance coverage for all ineligible patients.

  • Responses to inquiries regarding eligibility timely and accurately.

  • Works eligibility issues until final resolution has been reached.

  • Contacts the Department of Social Services (DSS) to determine issues surrounding ineligibility of patients identified.

  • Communicates issues to social workers, billing, or branch individuals as appropriate.

  • Creates and sends spenddown invoices to DSS as necessary.

  • Communicates spenddown information to billing department.

  • Communicates with patients, families and conservators’ issues surrounding eligibility and needed information.

What is Required?

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • 2+ years experience with insurance verification/authorization and/or billing experience in a clinical setting

  • Experience in a home health or Hospice environment is preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

You will report to the Director of Social Work.
