Overview

Graham Packaging Company is looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician based in Rockwall, TX. This opening is for day shift, which operates during the hours of 7am - 3pm.Facility Maintenance Technicians are responsible for routine and preventative maintenance on buildings, grounds, and equipment, including systems rooms, electrical, and machine repair

Responsibilities

  • Understands, follows and enforces all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices.

  • Understands, follows and enforces all established policies, procedures and recognized practices.

  • Focus on producing quality product by monitoring quality levels and adjust the manufacturing processes to ensure product integrity.

  • Reads and interprets drawings, blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals to preform required maintenance and service.

  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment to preform tasks.

  • Experience with high and low voltage electrical practices.

  • Ability to fabricate and experience with safe hot work practices to include but not limited to oxy-fuel heating, brazing, soldering, cutting, grinding, and welding.

  • Ability to operate and complete tasks utilizing aerial lift equipment.

  • Minor demolition/disassembly

  • Diagnose, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, replace, install and optimize HVAC systems/air Handlers, dehumidifiers, low- and high-pressure compressors, chillers, cooling towers, facility exhaust fans, dock doors facility infrastructure, and other miscellaneous equipment within facility.

  • Assist with fabrication and/or light repairs on production equipment as needed.

  • Conducts preventive maintenance programs and keeps accurate maintenance records.

  • Assist and train production employees in proper operation and maintenance of facilities equipment and systems.

Qualifications

  • Two year Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance or related field is preferred.

  • A minimum of five years Industrial Maintenance Technician experience is preferred.

  • Maintenance Technicians are required to interact with managers, employees, vendors, and customers. Therefore, the following skills and proficiencies are also essential requirements of the position.

  • Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance.

  • Computer usage and typing skills are essential.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.

  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.

  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.

  • Communicates effectively: conveys facts and information clearly both verbally and orally.

  • Collaborates well with others: proactively contributes to group objectives; volunteers to help others.

Compensation Statement

The expected salary range for the position described in this posting is made in accordance with the legal mandates of certain jurisdictions within the United States. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience.
