BAE Systems Systems Security Engineer in Rockville, Maryland

Job Description

BAE Systems Intelligence & Security designs and delivers advanced defense, intelligence, and security solutions that support the important missions of our customers. BAE Systems is the independent and unbiased weapon systems integration agent for the US Navy s Strategic Systems Program (SSP). We perform a variety of roles within the bounds of Systems Engineering & Integration, Lifecycle Logistics, and Information Technology / Information Management. As a critical member of our team, you will have the opportunity to be a part of SSP s System Engineering & Integration transformation for complex system design, development, and acquisition efforts.

BAE Systems has an immediate need for a highly qualified senior systems engineer with the requisite acumen in Cybersecurity, Anti Tamper, Supply Chain, Hardware and Software Assurance to support SSP office and the Trident II D5 Strategic Weapon System (SWS) programs.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Education and years of related/relevant work experience required: Bachelor s degree in technical area (i.e. systems engineering, cybersecurity, information systems, etc) and at least four years of related/relevant work experience or equivalent education and related/relevant work experience.

Additional skills/experience required:

  • Experience with collaborating directly with government customers to create policy, process, and implement appropriate tools for architecting, modeling, and designing system security countermeasures

  • Experience in a systems engineering approach to the successful realization of a system through a set of stages, conceptually forming a system lifecycle from requirements through to project completion including technical and design reviews

  • Experience with generation and maintenance of technical documents of all levels

  • Understanding of policies, practices and procedures, and the ability to communicate these to their team by way of collaboration and integration

  • Ability to work autonomously, with limited oversight from Team Leaders and Management

  • Experience with understanding and generating system level requirements, architectures, and designs

  • Knowledge of the Risk Management Framework within NIST Special Publications, MITRE ATT&CK Matrices, and other DoD artifacts

  • Experience in the proper evaluation and treatment of Critical Program Information (CPI).

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Master s degree in system engineering and/or a similar degree of completion in STEM (Science, Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics)

  • Experience implementing principle and practices with DoD or Federal government environments

  • Knowledge and experience working in the System Engineering Vee framework

  • Knowledge of MBSE modeling languages, frameworks, and tools such as SysML, DoDAF, UML, Cameo

  • Experience with scripting and programming languages

  • INCOSE Associate System Engineering Professional or Certified System Engineering Professional certificate

  • OCSMP and CISSP Certifications

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $92290 - $156860

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
