Qualifications Candidates may qualify for the 2210, IT Management Series, by meeting either the Experience requirements specified in the Qualifications section of this announcement or the Education requirements specified in the section titled Education. Attention to Detail Customer Service Oral Communication Problem Solving Applicants can qualify based on education OR specialized experience. Specialized experience is typically gained in the IT field, through the performance of work where the primary concentration is IT and/or through directly related education. To qualify based on experience applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level. In addition to the competencies listed above, applicants must meet specialized experience requirements by demonstrating (within the resume) a minimum of 5 of the following 7 competencies: 1. Diagnosis and resolution of customer reported system incidents, problems, and events. 2. Troubleshooting system hardware and software. 3. Administration of accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment. 4. Performing needs analysis to determine opportunities for new and improved business process solutions. 5. Monitoring and reporting client-level computer system performance. 6. Analyzing and evaluating work related to integrated systems of IT programs and/or IT equipment. 7. Basic cybersecurity/information security principles. Education EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, or statistics.
