Job Requirements:

Candidate must have current and valid Certification for Nursing Assistant. Must be at least 18 years of age. Compassionate, mature, sympathetic and professional at all times. Good organization and communication skills. Ability to read, write, understand and carry out directions furnished in written and oral form. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Knowledgeable in restorative and medical nursing principles and practices. The candidate must successfully complete any/all required preemployment evaluation test(s) per policy. Candidate will have the physical ability to perform jobrelated duties, which may require lifting, standing bending, transferring, stooping, stretching, walking, pushing and pulling.

Key Responsibilities:

The Certified Nurse Aide functions as a member of the health care team under the direction of the RN or LPN and reports to the Charge Nurse

in conformity with professional standards, follow policies and procedures and adheres to federal, state and local requirements and regulatory policy.

Provides assistance to residents in daily hygiene rituals, making sure they are clean, dry and appropriately dressed.

Assists residents during meals, ensuring they are receiving the prescribed diet.

Performs general medical care functions and assesses resident's vital signs daily.

Reports any abnormalities in hygiene or diet intake to charge nurse.

Encourages residents to remain as independent as possible in a safe environment.

Engages residents in restorative care exercise.

Assists residents in relearning or adapting to new methods as part of their restorative program.
