POSITION SUMMARY

The Business Intelligences (BI) Developer II works collaboratively with customers and the data engineering team to design and deliver BI visualizations. The Business Intelligence Developer II will have extensive interaction with operational team members and leadership and will be tasked with analysis of business data and analytics requirements, and the transformation of those requirements into analytics solutions. Mentoring of other team members on BI concepts and strategies is also an integral role of the position. This position works closely with leadership, as well as business analysts in providing timely data reporting services to mid-level or complex reporting projects and resolve related technical issues. Must exercise sound judgement to ensure solutions meet enterprise standards.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Participate in creation/validation of design specifications for new reports or reporting solutions.

2. Identify and review the appropriate technological solution for various reporting needs, communicating design alternatives and recommendations as necessary.

3. Create self service reporting solutions based on enterprise standards.

4. Develop queries to extract data from a variety of SQL environments, using current data retrieval, management and transfer tools. May also develop queries to add data elements to the data warehouse.

5. Designs, develops and tunes dashboards and reports and dashboards to meet business requirements.

6. Develop test scripts to ensure software accuracy, completion and validity.

7. Works closely with internal customer to understand their data needs and is able to design moderately complex BI solutions.

8. Builds prototypes for demonstration and illustration purposes for peer groups, stakeholders, and/ or senior leaders.

9. Identifies opportunities for utilizing and building self-service reporting tools to meet reporting needs.

10.Participate in creation/validation of design specifications for new reports or reporting solution.

11.Key driver in the BI requests/ticket production queues.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or an associates degree 2 years of experience.

Licensure: None Required

Certification: Basic certification required within one year of hire.

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of applicable experience.
• Experience in Healthcare or a similarly complex regulated industry.
• Proven experience working with customers to develop basic to intermediate level BI solutions.
• Demonstrated experience working within a fast paced agile development environment.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.

Work Experience in lieu of Education: 4 years experience in lieu of degree.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to work with customers to create user stories
• Requires strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving abilities and critical thinking.
• Demonstrated knowledge of BI areas including analytics and reporting.
• Basic skills in SQL, M, DAX or similar languages.
• Relational Database concepts, Report Writing ability, or SQL

• Experience in Healthcare o Familiarity with data vault modeling methodology
• Experience with cloud analytics platforms such as Microsoft Synapse or Snowflake.
