Core Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for the day-to-day business operations to effectively and efficiently operate a medium-sized district office. The position will perform administrative functions by performing complex, varied tasks requiring established skill sets, which include a solid knowledge of modern office practices and office equipment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Planning, assigning, scheduling, prioritizing and managing administrative support staff;

• Overseeing physical plant operations and building maintenance needs;

• Troubleshooting equipment and providing technical assistance;

• Recommending and implementing improvements to the workspace, equipment and ergonomics;

• Coordinating with divisional units to enhance efficiency and to achieve operational goals;

• Monitoring and ensuring occupational health and safety;

• Inventorying, procuring and restocking office supplies and equipment;

• Training subordinate employees and those providing reception coverage.

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify, you must have six (6) years of responsible clerical experience to include two (2) years performing supervision or performing highly independent clerical work.

The background of well-qualified candidate will demonstrate experience in the following areas:

  1. Prior experience in applying a solid knowledge of modern office practices to perform a broad range of complex office support tasks.

  2. Prior customer service experience which involves direct face-to-face contact with clients.

  3. Prior supervisory experience.

This recruitment is being conducted for an anticipated vacancy located in Rockland.
