Objectives:

The Supervisor will manage the QC Microbiology Laboratory within Quality Laboratory Operations. The group is responsible for monitoring product quality by performing tests to support marketed and pre-marketed product formulations in accordance with SOPs and regulations. The supervisor will lead the group to continuous improvement activities to refine practices and maintain and improve GMP compliance status and efficiencies of work processes.

Responsibilities:

• Provides expertise and guidance for microbiological related work, testing, and investigations.

• Supervise resources, develop, coach, and motivate the team.

• Make hiring decisions and manage performance appraisals for staff.

• Collaborate across other microbiology departments, quality functions, and within the QLO team to align, harmonize, and standardize practices, where practical.

• Manages team priorities to meet project team milestones.

• Assures training of all team members for assignments and for development opportunities.

• Plans for cross-training in the team to allow for coverage of key tasks.

• Manages processes such as lab investigations, CAPAs, and NCs, in quality management systems appropriately.

• Maintains on the job knowledge and skills by participating in review of applicable training and regulations.

• Supports internal and external regulatory audits of function.

Requirements:

• BS in microbiology/science or related field.

• 5+ years of experience in a GMP testing laboratory.

• 5+ years of leadership experience.

• Quality experience in medical device or pharmaceutical industry.

• Effective communication, problem solving, decision making and critical thinking skills.

As required by New York State's pay transparency bill, Bausch + Lomb provides a good faith minimum and maximum salary range of compensation for roles that can or will be performed, in New York State. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For New York State, the range of starting annual base pay for this role is $77,000 - $118,000.
