We are hiring for a Home-Finding Specialist to aid in our foster and adoptive parenting programs at our Rochester, NY location.

After the initial provision period, this will be a primarily mobile role, with a work from home base and travel to clients and occasional meetings as needed. This is a full-time position (40 hours) Monday to Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm, with a flexible schedule.

You will be responsible for ensuring there is a core group of certified professional foster and potential adoptive parents who sufficiently meet the service needs of the agency, and who can be called upon as agency needs arise. The Home-Finding Specialist is also responsible for ensuring there is an effective, timely, and responsive communication plan in place to respond to these needs.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and implementation of initial and ongoing training of foster parents.

• Monitor foster parent attendance at trainings, and develop a remedial plan of action if foster parent’s attendance does not meet requirements.

• Interact with families in both individual and support group settings.

• Certify and re-certify parents in accordance with agency and applicable certification requirements.

• Set up respites on a daily basis and be a liaison to programs for respite foster care.

• Work flexible hours as determined by service needs, and be available for rotating on call coverage.

Requirements:

• Associates degree in Human Services or a related area of study; Bachelor’s degree preferred

• 1+ years of home finding or relevant experience

• Equivalent education and experience will be considered

• Experience being a foster parent or foster child preferred

• Must have excellent communication skills, and be able to learn dual systems for documentation and paperwork completion

• Must have a valid driver’s license and meet agency driving standards

$17.50 Minimum Rate per hour, $25.49 Maximum Rate per hour, based on experience.
