Job Description:

The RN CDE provides diabetes education in the outpatient setting, including diabetes education for clinical staff (medical & nursing).

Salary Range:

$25.00-$37.15/hourly

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Job Requirements:

1. Education: NYS Licensed RN, BS preferred. Currently Certified in Diabetes Care & Education (CDCES) or pursuing certification once 1,000 direct patient care hours are obtained preferred.

2. Experience: 2 + years with diabetes education

3. License/Certification Required: Licensed as an RN in New York State, CDCES preferred (or pursuing criteria for CDCES qualification).

4. Skills: Excellent communication (written & oral) including organizational skills.

5. Demonstrates competency with diabetes education specific to persons with Type 1, 2 & Gestational DM.Ability to relate to patients & their families.Public speaking
