Description

The Department of Imaging Sciences at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY, is seeking a division chief for their abdomen imaging section. The division presently consists of 11 faculty members supported by licensed professional extenders and a dedicated radiology communication center. Abdominal imaging faculty perform CT/MRI/US/Abdominal Fluoroscopy, and PET/CT with internal sub-specialization in line with a faculty member interest. We provide diagnostic imaging and teaching at the primary medical center and collaborate with superb clinical colleagues. Biopsies and other invasive procedures are performed by a separate interventional division. Overnight coverage is provided by a separate emergency radiology division.

Compensation and benefit packages are highly competitive, including 403b and 457 plans, disability insurance, and tuition benefits. As a non-profit institution, service time may count toward the public service federal loan forgiveness program. Faculty enjoy competitive combined vacation and conference time each year. The department has maintained an average of one day per week of dedicated academic/administrative time to allow for professional development.

The Department of Imaging Sciences at the University of Rochester is a practice of approximately 90 radiologists and 25-30 residents and fellows. Technical highlights include state of the art information technology, 3T MRI, a clinical PET/MRI, Dual Energy CT and digital PET/CT. The department's PACS system is integrated into a comprehensive electronic clinical information system. Annual study volumes are approaching 1,000,000 across several imaging locations throughout the region. The Finger Lakes region of New York is famous for its outdoor participatory sports and is the 3rd largest wine region in the United States.

The referenced pay range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the base range of compensation for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, experience and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries. Alignment of clinical incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
