Objectives:

Completes engineering projects by organizing and managing project elements to support medical device manufacturing operation and new technology deployment. Supports the Rochester site with project management activities, including but not limited to: new product launches, process validations and equipment qualifications, operational improvements, and change control required for labeling and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops project objectives by creating/reviewing project proposals and plans and conferring with plant management and other company stakeholders, including Commercial, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, R&D, and Quality.

  • Participates in a cross-functional team(s) with Project Management, Quality, Operations, and Engineering to achieve business objectives.

  • Initiates, manages, and implements QCRs (Quality Change Requests) to introduce process changes.

  • Serves as a site project lead for new product launches and new product setups.

  • Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; works with functional managers in matrix organization(s) to assign personnel to phases and elements.

  • Determines project schedule by studying project plans and objectives, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements.

  • Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems. Elevates issues appropriately as needed.

  • Controls project costs by monitoring and adhering to project budgets.

  • Reviews and updates relevant procedures, specifications, and work instructions within the scope of the project work.

  • Writes and coordinates execution of test strategies, engineering studies, equipment/process qualifications, and process validations.

  • Ensures project compliance to company policies and quality directives, including change control, validation, and NC/CAPA.

  • Maintains a high degree of flexbility to coordinate a variety of different tasks and projects.

Requirements:

  • BS required; degree in Engineering preferred. MS Engineering or MBA preferred.

  • 5+ years in Project Management or Engineering role demonstrating a progression of skills.

  • Medical device manufacturing or other FDA-regulated industry experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving profiency and proven ability to meet agreed-upon deadlines.

  • Specialized Training: Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Process Improvement, Technical Understanding, Documentation Skills, Presentation Skills, Team Building, LEAN / Six Sigma, Validation

As required by New York State's pay transparency bill, Bausch + Lomb provides a good faith minimum and maximum salary range of compensation for roles that can or will be performed, in New York State. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For New York State, the range of starting pay for this role is $72,000 - 110,000 annually.
