Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • The role of a web developer involves developing a web-based online learning platform that aims to support K-12 students and teachers to engage in Machine Learning and Data Literacy activities. The main scope of the position includes web application development, testing and deployment to ensure stability for public use.

  • The web developer will work in the interplay lab at the Department of Computer Science. One main project is a web-based learning platform.

  • The web developer will create a robust and secure web-based learning platform that is accessible to the public. Example developed tasks include: (1) Data export and web page generation: enable the teacher-facing web application to export data to the student-facing web application; (2) Enable multi-user interaction: allow multiple users to interact with the authoring tool at the same time; (3) Optimize existing features: creates and optimizes secure web pages to meet evolving needs identified through empirical studies with teachers

  • The web developer needs to communicate progress, today¿s goals, obstacles, next steps on a daily basis with the project lead.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelor or Master¿s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalentareas.

Specialized or technical knowledge:

  • AdvancedskillsinprogramminglanguagesincludingHTML,JavaScript,CSS,andGO;and web development frameworks including React.js andRedux.js.

Kind and length of experience:

  • More than one year of experience of working as a web development researchassistant.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $17.43 - $24.40 Hourly

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
