Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Management – Construction, Renovation, Deferred Maintenance (25%)

  • Responsible for the comprehensive management of construction and renovation projects, overseeing all aspects from design inception to final occupancy, exhibiting a high level of autonomy.

  • Manages and directs collaborative efforts with University partners, including River Campus Facilities, University IT, AS&E IT, Event and Classroom Management, and Public Safety, showcasing independence and leadership in project coordination.

  • Engages with external vendors as necessary, managing relationships with equipment and furniture vendors to ensure seamless project execution.

  • Assumes the leadership role during the In-House Construction Group meetings, actively engaging as the facilitator and providing thorough project updates to stakeholders.

  • Directs the coordination of intricate staff moves across various university and AS&E departments, developing meticulous plans that involve collaboration with other university service providers and a well-defined timeline. Demonstrates an ability to actively monitor timelines and effectively communicate changes to affected parties in a timely manner.

Space Planning (25%)

  • Collaborates closely with the Director in conducting comprehensive data collection for meticulous space inventories, ensuring accuracy. Leads and oversees sophisticated space utilization studies and analyses as part of strategic initiatives.

  • Completes space walk-throughs on a rotating basis to ensure space inventory is accurate.

  • Reviews initial space requests from departments and ensures that requests are complete and follow guidelines and policies. Makes recommendations to the Director on possible solutions.

  • Prepares space reports for Deans and senior leadership.

Capital Budget (25%)

  • Develops and formulates strategic plans for the annual capital budget, aligning project priorities with the university's overarching goals and initiatives.

  • Orchestrates the creation of detailed project proposals, including budget estimates, timelines, and resource requirements, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities and financial constraints.

  • Directs the execution of capital budget projects, overseeing all phases from initiation to completion, and ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgetary constraints.

  • Collaborates closely with relevant stakeholders, including department heads and financial teams, to assess and prioritize capital budget requests based on the university's strategic objectives and resource availability.

  • Regularly evaluates the progress and performance of capital projects, identifying potential challenges and proposing solutions to ensure successful and timely project completion.

Operational Support (15%)

  • Day-to-day operational issues: furniture management, office comfort, parking, recycling sustainability, housekeeping.

  • Provides project management for key reoccurring operations meetings with stakeholders across AS&E buildings (Strong Auditorium Steering Committee, In-House Construction Group, AS&E Committee for Instructional Space Planning, and others).

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Dregree required.

  • 3 years of related work experience required.

  • Administrative experience in an academic office or project management, or the equivalent experience in business required.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $70,197 - $105,295 Annually

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
