University of Rochester Physician Support Rep III in Rochester, New York

POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs complex secretarial duties, in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction and considerable latitude for independent judgment for the Sleep Disorders Clinic. Main responsibilities include support of multiple physicians and nurse practitioners, coordination of patient care, addressing patient telephone calls and follow-through (with as-needed nursing staff/provider input), and information/data support.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  • Serves as back up support for the Referral Coordinator, Prior Authorization Specialist, and frontend support.

  • Reviews electronic chart work queues, in baskets and pools for continual management and triaging. Schedules outgoing referral requests. Reviews and manages order and order information queues, coordinates outgoing consult requests in the work queue, obtains prior authorizations when applicable.

  • Obtains outside medical records. Manage cancelation list and reschedule reports. Review schedules for availability. Manage provider and sleep lab schedules.

  • Receives incoming patient telephone calls for attending(s), fellow(s) and nurse practitioner(s) via eRecord or Access Center transfer call, managing and/or resolving various scheduling/coordination issues and answering questions as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma and 2 years of relevant experience required

  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience required

  • Demonstrated customer relations skills required.

  • Medical terminology knowledge preferred.

  • Experiences with surgical/appointment scheduling software (such as Flowcast) and electronic medical records preferred.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $18.89 - $25.51 Hourly

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
