University of Rochester Pediatric Hematology-Oncology -- (Inpatient and Ambulatory Responsibilities) Pediatric Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant... in Rochester, New York

Responsibilities

Exciting opportunity for an APP who enjoys being a part of a hardworking interdisciplinary team to provide care for pediatric patients with hematologic and oncologic disorders. Responsibilities include provision of patient care in a fast-paced inpatient clinical setting for patients requiring bone marrow transplantation, knowledge in chemotherapy and stem cell infusions, monoclonal antibodies and oncologic emergencies. Clinical expertise in outpatient bone marrow transplantation care to facilitate appropriate management of side effects with the outpatient APP team. Knowledge in chemotherapy protocols, performing bone marrow biopsy and lumbar puncture with administration of intrathecal chemotherapy, coordination and treatment planning including admissions, follow up appointments, and discharge planning. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in hematology/oncology, participation in education of learners (students and new employees) using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner

Requires a Master's Degree in Nursing or related field and an active New York State license in good standing. Applicants will have 5 years experience as an RN with one to three years of leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The Nurse Practitioner influences the quality and delivery of care in various roles including consultant, researcher, mentor, and practitioner. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Physician Assistant

Completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program, licensure in good standing, and certified as a Registered Physician Assistant. Demonstrated clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $47.12-$65.97

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum annual salary for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
