Position Title: Dishwasher

Reports to: Director of Moving Forward / Regional VP

SUMMARY

To assist Kitchen Operations daily and serve meals that is nutritious and in accordance with the posted menu and/or the directions of the head cook. Maintain an environment that is sanitary and in compliance with all standards set forth by the New York State regulatory agencies and Volunteers of America of Western New York, Inc. Rochester provides services to Supportive housing in addition to provide services to Emergency housing.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a dishwasher, you will help to ensure the kitchen staff has clean dishes and supplies needed to prepare our unique culinary offerings

Support culinary operations by washing dishes, putting away dish loads and performing other kitchen duties as necessary, including some food prep work

•

Assist with receiving of products, stock rotation and general kitchen organization and cleanliness

•

Maintain the overall appearance and cleanliness of the kitchen and dishwashing area to ensure work gets completed in the most effective and safest way possible

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.

• 1 year or more of previous cooking experience.

• Work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

• TB test required and annual physical

• Safe Serve certificate

• Valid NYS Driver’s License-that meets VOA driving requirements

• Background Clearance

  REQUIRED SUPERVISION:

  Several times daily, to report or get directions and/or assignments, follow established methods and procedures; refer exceptions to supervisor.

  PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

• Restock inventory as necessary
